Meeting Your Macros with BistroMD Delivery
One of the biggest challenges with flexible dieting and IIFYM is tracking your food intake so that you can be sure you are meeting your prescribed set of macros.
While this does get easier and quicker with time, it still can be challenging for busy people who may not have time to cook or for those who simply don’t like to cook.
BistroMD is one such company that’s been around for 10 years delivering calorie controlled, yet great tasting meals to their customer’s front door.
The company recently sent me some of their new BBQ meals to try for myself and here’s what I thought.
In addition to their already extensive line of meal options, BistroMD has begun serving both pulled pork and pulled beef BBQ. Here’s how each meal tasted and stacked up macro-wise.
Hickory Smoked BBQ Pork with Peach Crisp
This meal consisted of a generous portion of pulled pork, purple cabbage apple slaw, and peach crisp on the side.
The BBQ was tender and flavorful just like I would make it myself, although, I would have added a tad more sauce than was provided. The slaw was a good compliment to the pork. The peach crisp tasted good but certainly didn’t have a crisp texture like you’d expect from peach crisp. However, this is hard to achieve from a microwave.

Hickory Smoked BBQ Beef with Yukon Gold Potatoes
This meal consisted of a generous portion of BBQ pulled beef, green beans, and whipped potatoes.
This meal was my favorite of the three. The meat had the perfect amount of sauce and was tender and flavorful. The potatoes and green beans were a great compliment to the dish.

Hickory Smoked BBQ Pork with Broccoli
This meal consisted of a generous portion of BBQ pork, purple cabbage apple slaw, and broccoli florets.
Again, the meat was tender and flavorful, but with the pulled pork, it could have stood a little more sauce. They are using a really lean cut of pork, which is great, but it would be perfect with a little more sauce. The slaw added a nice tang and the broccoli was… well… broccoli.

BistroMD IIFYM Supplementation
BistroMD’s meals on average run 1,100-1,400 calorie per day which would be too low for most flexible dieters. Therefore, most people would have to supplement the meals with other foods in order to meet their macros sufficiently.
This could be accomplished with adding in snacks, protein shakes, etc.
But, using BistroMD would help most people effortlessly get the bulk of their calories and macros through their delivered meals.
BistoMD has two delivery options:
1. 7 days a week consisting of three meals a day, minus 1 dinner. Plus, the option of adding in snacks. I would recommend not choosing the snack option so you can add in the right extra foods that will get you to your daily macro targets.
This option costs $179.95 each week. (Almost $26 per day.)
2. 5 days a week consisting of 3 meals a day plus the option of adding snacks, but again, I recommend adding in your own snacks.
This option costs $149.95 per week. (Almost $30 per day.)
If you don’t like to cook or don’t have time to, BistroMD can be a convenient way to satisfy most of your macros in a tasty way and a less expensive, yet a more healthier option than eating most of your meals at restaurants.
